The Belgian premium string brand Luxilon has introduced three strings that together make up their brand new, innovative ECO series.
Luxilon is a company that is deeply committed to sustainability in tennis and preserving nature. You can read more about their efforts on their own website. While producing tennis strings, Luxilon has also thought about sustainability by introducing the Luxilon ECO strings. These monofilament strings are made from 100% recycled material. The Luxilon ECO string collection consists of the ECO Power, ECO Rough, and ECO Spin.
ECO Power was the very first string introduced. With this, the new development began, where Luxilon focuses on optimizing their production process for sustainability, for the sake of our planet, even more so than they already did.
During this innovative production process, Luxilon now uses 90% of the materials from recycled PET bottles and 10% recycled plastic materials from other sources. The result: a new material in the world of tennis strings that meets Luxilon's very strict requirements in areas such as sustainability, durability, and tension maintenance.
ECO Power
The ECO Power is a hexagonal, relatively firm string that provides extra grip on the ball, power, control, and spin when executing full, powerful swings. With these characteristics and its unique green color, the Luxilon ECO Power perfectly complements the new Wilson Blade v9 tennis rackets. In collaboration with Wilson, we at Tennis Only had a successful incentive where players received a free ECO Power, personally strung by us, in their newly purchased Blade v9. This allowed us to gather a lot of feedback from players, with many positive responses. What we could understand from this, is that the ECO Power is able to grant a lot of wishes, of many different types of players.
ECO Rough
The second introduction in the Luxilon ECO string series was the ECO Rough, which has a rough texture due to its dented surface. As a result, this string feels softer and provides more grip on the ball for extra rotation. With these characteristics, the ECO Rough gives more spin and depth to your shots without you having to adjust your technique. This string is also relatively comfortable considering it is a monofilament. In short, if you are looking for a softer monofilament string with extra spin, comfort, and feel, give the Luxilon ECO Rough a try.
ECO Spin
The latest addition to the Luxilon ECO string series is the ECO Spin. A firmer, pentagonal string developed for precision, spin, and tension maintenance. Due to its consistent performance and quick snapback, combined with optimal tension maintenance, you will continue to enjoy the benefits of the ECO Spin for a longer period. An additional aspect of this string is that the material it is made of is 100% biodegradable.
