“More spin than anything”, that is the promise of the Austrian brand when introducing the new generation of HEAD Extreme tennis rackets. Aimed at the modern tennis player with fast, aggressive spin strokes. With the new design and the update in technologies, these rackets are the ultimate spin machines.
Upgrades
To achieve the end result of this 2024 version, a number of updates have been made compared to the previous generation of HEAD Extreme tennis rackets. First of all, the design. As we are used to from the spin-oriented racket family of HEAD, the design of the Extreme 2024 also catches the eye. The electric yellow-green color of the frame is accompanied in this new generation of spin rackets by an aesthetic, transparent bumper and grommet set, inspired by modern fashion and sneaker trends. With this addition, the Austrian brand focuses on tennis players from Gen Z and Y - also the target group that generally mainly performs spin shots.
In addition to the design, there has also been an upgrade in terms of integrated technology. Just like other new generation HEAD tennis rackets, the Extreme 2024 rackets now feature Auxetic 2.0. This has improved properties such as energy transfer, shock absorption, feel and liveliness compared to the previous generation.
What is Auxetic 2.0?
Auxetic materials have unique properties. For example, these constructions expand when a tensile force is exerted on them. The greater the tensile force, the greater the Auxetic reaction. HEAD uses this technology in their latest tennis rackets, at the place of the heart where the strings run through, as well as in the bottom of the grip, where tennis players hold the racket. In this way, the innovative Auxetic 2.0 technology contributes to an improved feel and direct, accurate feedback, regardless of the point of contact in your racket head. In this way, HEAD offers tennis players of all levels a better feel and more confidence during play.
What models are there?
HEAD Extreme PRO 2024
For the experienced tennis player looking for a spin-oriented racket that also offers extra precision, control and feel, HEAD has released the Extreme PRO 2024. This is the successor to the Extreme TOUR from the previous generation. With its weight of 305 grams, 98 sq in racket head and 22/23/21 mm tube, the PRO is the heaviest and most control-oriented variant within the Extreme 2024 series.
HEAD Extreme MP 2024
This racket is a top choice for (lightly) experienced players looking for a 300 gram racket, with a 100 sq in racket head, that focuses on facilitating as much spin and power as possible. Thanks to the well-known Sound Grommets, Spin Grommets, Spin Shaft and Spin Pattern technologies that belong to the HEAD Extreme rackets, in combination with Auxetic 2.0, the Extreme MP 2024 is even better than its predecessor.
HEAD Extreme MP L 2024
This model has undergone a slight change in terms of frame weight, compared to the previous generation. Instead of 285 grams, which is what the Extreme MP L previously weighed, this Extreme MP L 2024 weighs 280 grams. With the rest of the specifications remaining the same and the addition of Auxetic 2.0, the MP L 2024 performs better and is also easier to maneuver, resulting in extra spinning potential.
HEAD Extreme TEAM 2024
The lightest model is the TEAM with a frame weight of 265 grams. Packed with the same technologies, this version is ideal for beginners or young players switching to a standard racket, looking to generate more spin.
