Wilson Blade V9 Launched

Wilson Blade V9 Launched

The ninth generation Wilson Blade is here! One of the most popular tennis rackets in the world has been upgraded again. In this article you can read all about the new Wilson Blade V9 rackets.

Upgrades

A difference compared to the eighth generation, is that the V9 is produced with the extra innovative StableFeel technology and the Click & Go bumper and grommet system.

StableFeel

This latest Blade technology provides a firmer feel, improves stability and offers a natural connection with the ball. With serious players in mind during the production process, this has resulted in a "sharper Blade", ideal for people who want to improve their performance.

Click & Go

This new design in the Blade V9 rackets, allows the bumper to be attached to the top of the frame and removed by the click system at the height of the light green grommets. This makes the bumper easy to replace where necessary. It also makes it easier to adjust the specifications of the racket, by adding lead strips under the bumper. As expected, this latest version of the Wilson Blade remains a racket that focuses on feeling and control over the ball. The combination of the flexibility of the thin frame construction and improved stability ensures a direct connection between the player and the racket. And with the different models within this racket family, the American tennis brand aims to offer an option to all kinds of tennis players from beginners to professionals.

Wilson Blade V9 Lineup

What models are there?

Blade 98 V9 18x20

This is the most control-oriented frame within the inline Wilson Blade V9 racket family. At 305 grams, with a frame thickness of 20.6 mm and 18x20 string pattern, this is a racket for the advanced tennis player who is looking for as much feeling and control as possible. The dense string pattern also contributes to extra string durability.

Blade 98 V9 16x19

Like the 18x20 version described above, this version of the Blade V9 weighs 305 grams, has a frame thickness of 20.6 mm and a 98 sq in racket head. The difference lies in the string pattern, which gives the Blade 16x19 more spin potential and power.

Blade 100 V9

From this model, up to and including the lighter versions within the Blade racket family, Wilson produces frames that are a fraction wider than the two heavier models. Due to the 22 mm frame, the 100 sq in head size and the weight of 300 grams, this Blade 100 V9 is a more accessible option for the (slightly) advanced tennis player looking for a control-oriented racket.

Blade 100L V9

For (beginner or) intermediate tennis players who like to experience control and feel through their racket, this 100L with its weight of 285 grams, 100 sq in blade size, 16x19 string pattern and 22 mm frame thickness is the most suitable model within the Wilson Blade V9 racket series.

Blade 100UL V9

The Wilson Blade 100UL V9 is the solution for junior tennis players who are making the transition to a senior racket that focuses on control. With its low weight of 265 grams, the 16x19 string pattern, 100 sq in racket blade and 22 mm frame, this is the most control-oriented option for rackets in this weight class within the Wilson collection.
