The Babolat Pure Drive, one of the world's most famous racket families, has been renewed. This introduction by the French brand already marks the eleventh generation of the power-oriented series entering the tennis market
Naturally, we will once again be able to rely on the well-known properties of the Pure Drive producing powerful shots with the necessary control. And given the upgrade in the form of NF2-Tech 2.0, we may expect even more from the feel and comfort that the new Babolat Pure Drive tennis rackets offer.
Technologies
To maintain the popularity of the Pure Drive racket family, and potentially even increase it, as well as make users of this series become attached to the performance of their racket, Babolat has made innovative developments in terms of the implemented technologies. Below we explain what is incorporated in the frames of the Pure Drive GEN11 and what this adds to the playing experience.
NF2-Tech 2.0
This is the renewed and improved version of the original NF2-Tech. This innovation, in the form of natural flax fibers in the neck of the frame, efficiently filters the vibrations at ball impact, so that the unwanted vibrations are dampened and therefore impact the arm less. However, the feedback that is needed to ensure the excellent performance in terms of feel that tennis rackets implemented with this technology offer is retained.
FSI Power
Frame String Interaction Power is a technology that consists of an interplay of several parts of the frame, with the string bed. To improve the power and feel that the racket has to offer. This goal is achieved by the open string pattern, in combination with optimal diamond-shaped grommets and the well-known Woofer System. This increases the sweet spot and therefore optimises the forgiveness.
HTR System
The design of the neck of the racket contributes to a high torsional stiffness. This means that the rotation of the frame at the location of the heart is minimized. This ensures excellent stability at impact and the energy transfer from the racket to the ball.
Elliptic Frame
The shape of the frame (in the neck) is oval. Due to the strength of this structure, the stiffness remains optimal for transferring power to the ball. Simultaneously, the stiffness of the frame puts extra emphasis on the properties of the strings.
Lineup
As we could expect, several different models have been introduced again, with which Babolat hopes to appeal to a wide range of players. Within this eleventh generation of Pure Drive rackets, there are differences in weight, head size, string pattern, frame thickness, and balance point. As a result, the rackets actually differ from each other in terms of playing performance. Thus, it is of great importance to make the right choice for your game. Below you can read which models the Babolat Pure Drive GEN11 series consists of.
Senior Rackets
Babolat Pure Drive 98 GEN11
The Pure Drive 98 is the heaviest, most precision-oriented option within the GEN11 racket series. With its weight of 305 grams, balance point of 32.5 cm, 98 sq in racket head, and 16x20 string pattern, this variant is especially suitable for the experienced tennis player who is looking for a powerful racket with the necessary control to swing effectively and place the ball with precision.
Babolat Pure Drive GEN11
With a weight of 300 grams, 100 sq in racket head, 16x19 string pattern, and 32 cm balance, this is an extremely popular variant among (slightly) experienced tennis players who are looking for a racket with a high level of power, stability, and feel. Does this coincide with you? Then the Babolat Pure Drive GEN11 is most likely the right choice.
Babolat Pure Drive Team GEN11
For players who are looking for the well-known properties of the Babolat Pure Drive in a racket that is slightly easier to handle, Babolat has introduced the Pure Drive Team GEN11. Due to the similar frame construction and the implemented technologies as discussed above, this variant also offers the desired combination of power and feel. The weight of 285 grams, the balance point of 32 cm, the 16x19 string pattern, and the 100 sq in head size contribute to it being relatively easy to handle and play with power.
Babolat Pure Drive Lite GEN11
While the Team variant already is an easier-to-handle option of the Pure Drive, this Pure Drive Lite GEN11 is an even lighter model. The weight of 270 grams and balance of 33 cm ensures that this racket is relatively easy to swing through the air with the right technique by beginning to slightly advanced tennis players, while there is enough mass present to continue to promise properties such as power, stability, and feel. In addition, the Pure Drive Lite is an option for experienced junior tennis players who are making the transition to a senior racket.
Babolat Pure Drive S Lite GEN11
One of the lightest tennis rackets in our range is the Babolat Pure Drive S Lite GEN11. This low weight of 255 grams makes the racket very easy to handle, allowing beginning tennis players and junior players who are making the transition to a first senior racket to focus on performing the right technique. The racket helps to generate enough speed.
